Hi John,
Now that you have your foiler, did you get out and experience some fast foiling around? I sure would like to hear about it.

Dan,

I have been kicking around the idea of finding and buying a Trifoiler. Nobody sxeems to list price so I have no idea what they go for, if one for sale can even be found.

Andy Zimmerman is a friend of mine. When I last saw him we were discussing the boat and he said that you and he were acquainted and your Trifoiler and his Waverider were developed about the same time. I remember seeing the Wind/Waverider boats in his facility but they never interested me the way the Trifoiler does.

Tom,
Right now I know of about 6 TFs for sale. If you want one, I can help you find one. They can range in price from $4 to 13K. depends on how well it was in storage and miles. Yes, I very breifly met Andy, the boat that he was molding, Rave, was a similiar type boat. You can see a video Greg made on YT. I admit, the skipper of the Rave was very inexperienced and did not set a good example of the Rave. He was a salesman, not a sailor.

If you know or hear of one for sale in the US Southeast, please keep me in mind. Thanks.

Andy said he still had a demo Rave in his garage. He's invited to let me try it out. If we ever get any more wind, I may do it.

Tom,

I added a Rave to my Hobie17 4 years ago and then bought a Hobie Trifoiler one year later. After getting the Trifoiler I sold the Rave one year later.
The Rave is more durable but heavier, not that fast, does not get on foils as quick as the Hobie and does not sail upwind as well.
Besides that I could not sail in our little lake later than springtime because of the sea weed wrapping around the foils of the Rave. The Hobie is much less sensitive against water plants.
Overall sailing the Hobie is much more fun!
Nevertheless the selling price for a used Rave is lower and it is a great boat as well. But if you want the best, go for the Hobie Trifoiler!

Thanks for the info. It's just something that's on my mind. If something pops up fairly local, I may have a go at it.

TriFoiler guy: (or is it Dan?)

I too am interested in purchasing a Trifoiler? You stated that you may be aware of six of them for sale. I am located in Portland, Oregon. Are you aware of any available in the Pacific Northwest or other west coast locations?

I can travel as needed, but more important is finding one that is in good and complete condition.

Captain Rich,
There are 2 boats in HI, 1 in AZ. These are the closest ones available.

Hi Alan,
I'm sorry to confirm that #62 is sold. Scott from NM is the new owner. I have the boat here and I'm in the process of replacing every line, bungee, and wire.
Don't fear, I am sure I can locate another one. I'm will be too busy today to talk, and I'm racing all next week, hopefully I can call you before the end of the month.
