Hello out there... new 2013 Hobie Oasis owner here...picked it up from Backyard Boats in Northern VA two weeks ago.

Here is it coming out of the warehouse and getting set up:

We trailered it home on our recently purchased used trailex trailer:

And yesterday we took it for it's maden voyage in a local lake at a county park. We found since the lake had been flooded to form it and lot of trees were submerged just under the water that we want to migrate to a bigger lake which we will do next weekend. We want to evolve into river runs on the Potomac and others, and then out into the bay as our experience level increases. A sail in Spring 2013 is next...

I have tons of hobbys but we wanted one we can do TOGETHER, hence the tandem. Here are a couple of snaps from yesterday's short trip where we had fun, broke nothing on the boat, and did not sink! :D

If there are other folks in the area who had an Oasis, perhaps we can connect sometime. Bob - Fredericksburg, VA

Gidday & welcome. Always good to have new owners here.

I have to say I am jealous of your boat - I have Adventure and AI in that colour - I tried an Outfitter for taking my daughter out with me but it lacked flotation for my fat *ss in the back & my daughter got very cold being up front & catching all the wave slop over the bow.

I think the new Oasis with its dual steering would be ideal: more buoyancy AND she can sit in the back while I (the keen one) cop for all the waves.

Enjoy !

Great looking boat! Congratulations!

I recently got an oasis that I found for sale in Myrtle Beach. I was lucky because had been in storage and hardly used! My gf and I really enjoy it. If we are ever in Va, will let you know. I plan to visit Smith Mountain Lake at some point.

Since when is F'burg in Northern VA  Most Fredericksburg locals associate with the lower part Virginia not the northern part

Congrats on you new Oasis :!:

Congratulations! We have a 2010 Oasis and enjoy it as often as possible on the lakes and canals in Central Florida.

It's a thing of beauty :)

I have the tan-colored oasis tandem.
Sometimes I regret not getting the yellow, as the tan can look a little drab.

Question to the gallery:

If you had to pick one COLOR, what color would you pick and why?

Thanks for the welcomes and comments.

We were out in it again today for a couple of hours on a much larger lake and had a blast; great exercise, relaxing, and something we are enjoying together.... we are getting more efficient in getting ready/packing it up ..takes about 15mins with the trailer to be on the road to and from the water. Probably will try a protected area of the Potomac River next. Bob
