Well....finally bit the bullet as I found a brand new 2012 with a 15% discount to boot. I prefer the older model and decided I could go no longer! It is Dune in color and is my first Hobie....been yaking for over 7 years and decided i wanted something a little different. Let's see how it works out.

You and I both. I just got my Pro Angler 14. I went with the Vantage Seat for mine. It is all about the comfort for me. Got the Black Friday Special. It came with a $600.00 rebate towards accessories as part of the dealer's Black Friday sale. It all worked out well. The only thing I have left to figure out is selecting the right Hobie "Plug-In Cart" so I can pull it around. I am customizing the Trailer right now... Waiting for the weather to behave so I can take the boat for a ride.

8) Impressive ride... I own a Hobie Quest and a Hobie Revolution as well. I found the Hobie Pro Angler with the Turbo Fins to be as fast, if not faster than the Revolution with the standard fins. Definitely not imagining things. I suppose my Revo would benefit substantially from getting a fin upgrade at this point. My new PA moves very well. So far so impressed....!

I have been fishing out of a kayak in one fashion or another for 20 years. Three years ago I went to the darkside and started fishing out of an Outback. My first reaction was " What the H have I been doing for the past 17 years?" I couldn't believe how much better it was to fish hands free with no paddling :!:

About six months ago I upgraded to a PA 12 and must say it is even 10 times better than the Outback. I can spend 8 hours fishing in it and feel great at the end of the day. No more sitting in the same position for all those hours and having to get my legs/hips unlocked at the end of the day.

Hope you enjoy your PA :!:

The only reason I have been hesitant is that most of my fishing is less than a foot of water chasing redfish in the marsh. However I am excited about the new purchase and eager to get it on the water! Thanks for your excitement!

Similar waters down here. You will love standing in the PA and being able to see the reds in the shallow water :!:

Think about asking Santa for a push pole or a SUP paddle or one of those stake out push pole combos. Awesome for standing and working in super shallow water.
2nd best thing ever.

Cheers.

I have been fishing in the shallow waters around my area and it's mostly oyster bars and marsh grass flats.

I went back to the standard fins because the turbos are a nightmare to deal with. Even with the regular fins i have a lot of trouble and i know how to feather them.

I would only use the turbos in deeper water, anything less than around two feet is a (censored).

I do have a Stake-Out Stick that I have used in the past....however I am not sure it will provide any ability to move the Hobie unless pushing? Do you guys use the SUP Paddle too?

Yes, sort of. I have a regular paddle that you can convert to a SUP paddle.

cnnashman, I have been using the turbo's in skinny water for years. As long as you keep the folded close to the hull and use the flutter kick in shallow water, they won't know if they are turbos or regular fins :D :D
