I need to mount a RAM Mount base in the forward "tray" area; between the rudder down handle and the kayak carry handle.

Problem is when I feel inside the hull there isn't direct access to the "tray" surface.. feels like a block on underside.

Any recommendations on how to mount a RAM Mount base to this area, it will hold the Evolve motor control so it won't be roughed up. I'll also need to drill a hole for the power cable next to it also.

I have a 2011 Outback and mounted the new YAKATTACK gearTrac in one and a mighty mount in the other. No issues whatsoever. You should be able to use a mirror and look up under there. Perhaps you have some "styrofoam" floats or something jammed uner there?
