Thanks to lots of help from people on this board, I came up to speed pretty fast in the year since I've owned my 20. The boat is a '92 (sail 252), and last season I managed to replace most of the important stuff (standing rigging, lines, mainsheet, etc). The good news is I had a trouble free season as a result and am looking forward to another.

Shifting my attention this year to making her look a little better. She's 21 years old now, and needs a facelift. I've been working on the boards and rudders this winter, plan on replacing the tramp in spring. I'd like to replace the hull graphics this year; the big 'Hobie Cat' down the center of the hull and the numbers up on the bow. Anyone ever replace theirs? if not - if any of you get a chance could you measure the height of the graphics or guess at the font; maybe i can have them made up locally.

Thanks,
Jim

Yes you can get Hull graphics done.

I have done this for my Hobie 20 when I needed to replace a Hull
and even did a custom color version of the Hobie Diamond (Thanks Matt M) when
red Diamonds were not available. I worked with a local Graphics guy here in San Jose CA. I then had him do similar style lettering for my Son Jordan's Hobie 14 Turbo after we worked with Craig Smith at Elkhorn Composites to redo the Blue GelCoat before we sold it. He also did lettering for my Son Jordan's Hobie 16 that matches the 20. Now that I have my Hobie 18 repaired and back from Elkhorn I am thinking about updating the graphics on my 1989 worlds boat.

A number of other sailors in the Div 3 Hobie 20 fleet have done graphics too - Mark Zimmer with NEMESIS on his boat comes to mind.

If anyone has any decals duplicated please let me know. I will split the cost if I can get a few. I would order at least 2 sets and maybe 3.
