You really can't beat a Go Pro for capturing the action. The new models are so good that (unless you want to zoom) There is no need to have a 'traditional' video camera. Great for photographs as well.
With a little bit of time and imagination you can mount the camera pretty much anywhere on the boat.

to see what i have done using a Go Pro you can visit my channel on youtube;

or my cat sailing website;

enjoy!

Here is my first upload from the GoBandit with gps, their software stinks but I like the camera. 2 min in I start to fly a hull and you can see how the pivoting camera mount works.

That's pretty damn cool Buxton. Thanks.

I think I prefer the horizon changing for the sake of drama, but this approach shows off you sailing skills better. Better for analyzing racing videos.

Hope to see more of these.

Thanks NOHUHU,

I made the pivot mount after 3 years of watching the horizon line tilt. I have more stuff on youtube under buxtonbb Lake Arthur doesn't give a 215lb guy much chance to get out on the wire, the wind is rarely steady and I'm like a teabag be dunked in a cup. A small group of us are leaving for Lake Pymatuning this morning so I hope to get some video on the wire.
