Chris,
For some reason I always think of an apes foot when I see those Vibrams.
Is that why you like your Papaya (read banana) coloured yak so much?

My granddaughter (9} refuses to be seen with me in public in my Vibrams. She says I look like a gorilla. Still, prehensile feet are perfect for steering a boat.

Your granddaughter and my wife must be from the same school of fashion. My wife says the EXACT same thing about my Vibrams!

Chrisj, prehensile? in my 61 years I have never heard that word used by anyone (sheltered life ya know)- I'm embarrassed to say had to go look it up ! Now I have a new word to play with - and a very good one too :P

Aussie, you've obviously been wasting your life traveling and working instead of watching endless David Attenborough docos on cable.

Yes please. Is it quick release? Or is it more of a permanent mount?

Can the old black (2009 & earlier) handle be replaced with the new handle (just the Oasis size handle, not the big handle on the new AI's). If it can, hopefully the Hiking Stick will work for older AI's too.

Chrisj you got it in one! LOL

I checked with my Hobie dealer on Sunday - they haven't seen the 2013 catalog yet (probably still in print) and had not heard about the hiking stick. They even suggested the hiking stick may not be in production yet - sometimes new items are listed in the catalog before actual delivery begins. He is checking with Hobie to try and get a release date.

Just got a call from my Hobie dealer - catalog is in and they have ordered the hiking sticks which should arrive in about 1 week. Looking forward to getting one.
