I just got my Wheeleez Beach Cart - the larger one with the 30 cm wheels. My PA14 is stored at my cottage so I cannot try this on for size now. I was hoping to use it when I get there this weekend and need to make sure I have everything I need. Specifically, the cart comes with 2 straps. Do these straps fit around the very wide PA14 or should I bring some longer replacements with me? Also, when do you need the straps and when can you get by without them (Concrete launches, rocky shoreline, sandy beach, etc)?
Jim the straps are to short, you'll have to add another set on each. As the cart stands its a pain to get it under the kayak. If you tilt the kayak on its side the cart kicks out. You have to lift the kayak and rotate it over the cart.
The kayak won't stay put without the straps. Also the kayak bottom will cave in a bit without what they call a rail kit. You can do your own rail kit using PVC, insulation and couple release clips.
Check out my cart modification a couple posts down. It's the same cart with PVC added to center the kayaks weight.
