I have one installed on a 18 I just bought - what's it worth used? (just mount)
has anyone tried elec motor? Battery would be cumbersome, but I wonder if someone makes one with a head that's goto a rechargable in it.
I'd only need it for channel passage. (10 minutes out - and after sailing 10 minutes back in).

I just sold mine for $200, although obvious it depends on condition and demand, etc. They cost something like $450 new.

I've never used them, but supposedly Torqeedo make a good product that's similar to what you describe. However, i think the big issue is their cost relative to a similar size gas outboard (and the range)

A Torqueedo with a spare batt and mount, would prob cost almost as much as a boat. i am rigging a small gas with self contained fuel. Screw tight fuel vent on cap when not in use. batteries/electric right now mean weight. Dependable yes....but weight.
