A question for people who have fitted outboards.
I have been researching DIY and Aftermarket designs for electric outboards fitted to Hobie PA.
The majority of PA owners seem to prefer the aft mount with some owners adding additional steering to the Outboard mounting system.
Could I have some feedback from PA owners fitted with outboards rating their kayaks ability to turn using the standard rudder?

The stock rudder requires the boat moving before it can affect the direction.

Maneuvering the boat by turning the outboard motor doesn't have that limitation,
you can turn on a dime.

In reality you are unlikely to need that kind of extreme maneuverability. My $.02

Thanks R11

I guess fitting some foot steering would improve maneuverability for chasing down those big fish.

cheers
