Went back out to the ML saturday morning (8/10/2013). The fish were there... Started out with a Topwater lure and caught five nice trout early in the morning. Looks like there is plenty of finger mullet running inside the river. When the Topwater bite slowed down I switched to soft plastic and hooked two nice Reds. Lost one of them after a good run, but this time the bigger one didn't get away. Check out the video for the rest of the story.

Good job on the video and a nice red. I'm headed down to Jupiter Fla. in September and if I can find a good launch site around Cape Canaveral I will give the Lagoon a go. :D

rafiki2cu,

September should be the perfect time to be on the water. The Mullet run will be on and the Trout bite will get even better....the secret is getting them early in the morning or late afternoon when they are hitting those Topwater lures. If you are going down to Jupiter, make sure you check out the area of Jensen beach, just North of Stuart or south of Fort Pierce.

Thanks for the info on Jensen beach. I did a google earth and found what looks to be a good launch site. After watching your videos I have to fish the lagoon also while down in Fla. Getting there early no problem as I like to put in around 4:30 am to catch the early bite plus enjoy the sunrise. Can you give any info on a launch site that would work for pulling a trailer on the lagoon. Keep the videos coming I enjoy watching them.

Glad to hear you enjoy the videos, rafiki2cu. There are numerous places to launch from at the lagoon. One that works well if you trailer your PA is Biolab. It offers plenty of room for small boats and it is wide open to the lagoon. Another popular spot is Eddy Creek. Located on the Playa Linda side. Wish you good luck on your adventure and look forward to reading your reports.
