Looking at pics from Europeans it looks like a lot of there 16's have more grommets down the middle of boat then the newer 16's you buy in N.A.
Probably makes spence as it allows you to tighten tramp better.

Will be standard in the near future on US made H16 tramps as well. We are working to standardize the 16 World Wide.

Is that an easy fix on our tramps to just bring them in to an appolstery shop and get them to add grommets. Our tramps should be strong enough for that?
How much extra line would then be required for main tramp lacing?

We have been selling double grommet kits for tramps for as long as I can remember - it's part number 2061 (comes with 24 grommets and a tool)
Yes - standard tramps can have extra grommets added, it is strong enough - just order a kit from your dealer. (this is a do it yourself type of project too)
You will also need to add longer lace lines, usually double the standard length will get it done.

I wanted to do it on the new boat I just got but the dealer I had been talking to said it wasn't really needed.
So does it help in a way to get the tramp tighter or do the extra grommets help spread the load out more evenly?

I know my dad doubled up the grommets along the middle of his old vinyl tramp on the old boat. Was it needed more on the vinyl than the mesh??

I would think it would do both, help with a tighter tramp and spread the load.
