I have been looking for a used mainsail for my Hobie 17 and I keep getting offers for a used Hobie 18 sail, saying that it is possible to use a Hobie 18 main instead. Does anyone know this to be tru?

You cannot use it on the 17 mast... it's too tall.

Send him my way though... I need an 18 sail. djsischo at gmail.com

I decided to part out my H17. The main is in very good condition. I was told by the previous owner that it is newer than the boat ('86). There is also a Jib kit that he never used. I used it the two times I had the boat out. Only thing with the jib is I think the jib blocks should be in the same place as the '18. To me the jib seemed loose. Then again, I've only had experience with the H16. I am leaving for work next week and will be gone for the entire month of July. I was thinking of putting parts on ebay when I get back. Feel free to drop me a note at [email protected] or give me a call. John (321)698-2191

I have one - I was looking for 100.00 but just went out to photograph it (it came with a boat I bought and haven't really looked at much) brought it home and stowed it all for the winter.

Anyway it's in much better shape than I thought - I'd need 200 + shipping. I suspect it will ship for 25-30 bucks.

One rip near the window. If I keep it - I'll patch that with "clear" TEDLAR patch used for rails and kite repairs.

I just shot photos - waiting for them to come from the cloud (my phone) I'll post when they get here.
I actually think I'll make a new listing. Look for it.
