I have a Classic and OB and was wondering if anyone has surfskied either one, the places I would go have small waves 1-3 feet and are good for beginning surfers

Which is better in the surf? Between those...either one. The best surfing kayak in the Hobie line is the Maui followed by the Lanai and then the Sport. Shorter is better and sharper rails turn and track better. I prefer to surf with the paddle...no drive and the seat removed. The seat removed allows you to move / lean aft to get the boat to turn better.

Thanks Matt,
I just wanted to get my "feet wet" and see if I really like it before I buy another kayak.
