Where did you buy your shock cord? West Marine has good stuff but the cheapest is $0.77 per foot and that's quite a bit for 70'.

I'm about to go check Lowes, Ace, Home Depot.

Got mine from a rigging specialty shop at $0.35 per foot. Will check my records and get back to you. At $0.77 per foot, I can't blame you for looking for an alternative.

I went ahead and bought the blue bungee at West Marine. I'm working on installing it all right now.

Got a little crafty with some splicing:

I love it! Everyone thinks it looks complicated but really it simplifies things a little bit.

I'll take some pictures tonight after work.

I'm almost embarrassed because it needs a wash. Here are the pictures as promised. I'll snap some more this week when I'm out on the boat and its fully rigged.

Its great. I decided that I needed this system right after I installed a new neoprene rail kit; after one sail, the neoprene was a little torn up. This system will save my rail for sure. It should also be helpful when I'm trapped all the way aft on my new footstraps as well.

Having recently upgraded my trapeze return system and discussing it in another thread I thought I'd post my work here as it's slightly different to the two illustrated setups here. What differences my setup is that my trampoline has four grommet holes for a double trapeze setup.

I used 12 metres of 6mm bungee (6 metres per trap), monel rivets, s/s saddles and Ronstan blocks.

That aft trap location will drive you nuts. It'll be constantly in the way.

When the tramps started coming from the factory with two grommets/side for the trap (~2008), the one that was just aft of the shroud always got in the way when you're sitting forward - yours is even further back.

Now the boats only come with one grommet/side - one trap runs through that and the other goes over the rail.

To be honest I can't say that it does get in the way or that I notice myself. I like having these fixed points to jump on and reach out from. If I was to move the aft one it easily unclips.
