Guys:

For anyone wanting a reacher like mine.

http://www.thebeachcats.com/modules.php ... _photo.php

Here is the quote from local sailmaker:

Doug

This is the quote for the reacher you were asking about. I'll leave
the paperwork as an attached file, so feel free to forward this
message to whomever is interested.

Tri Radial Jib proposal:

Dimension P2MX Polyester Laminate
Sail Area 78sqft
I 17.2
J 8.43
LP 100%

Price with or without battens: $700

Get in touch with me if you or anyone is interested! We can have the
complete sail shipped easily within three to four weeks.

I bought the 17 for the simplicity of the single rig but that rig is VERY nice!

If I had the $$$ I'd order one for sure. Apparently I'd still need to buy the hardware (?)

Unfortunately the first thing I need to spend money on is a new Main (or have a panel replaced) since mine is delaminating.

And I used the boat as a lawn ornament all last year.

And winter is here now so I won't be thinking of sailing for a few months.

And blah blah blah

Stay tuned as this sad tale of a busy life interferes even more with the love of my life - sailing !!

Unless you have enough 17's around to race class, get a Squaretop. You will love it. Makes a LOT of difference in light air.

Just a thought,

Doug

Thanks for the idea Doug. Actually, the more I think of it, the less I am convinced that I want a jib, so a new squaretop main is a great idea. It will improve speed on those downhill runs for sure. Any suggestions on where to start looking for one ? Thanks.

And a pirate flag too ...

Check with Rick at www.catsailor.com. He is a dealer for a lot of lofts.

Fastcat:

I have sent a number of email's to Chip at Whirlwind Sails and got no reply. The link you posted times out. Maybe he is out of business? I would go through Rick. Whoever you guys get a Squaretop through you will LOVE it, especially in light air.
