I'm about to upgrade my Wave with the 1957 kit. This is actually new installation. The boat is of tendon connector vintage but was damaged and so the tiller arms are used but off of different boats. And the tiller connector came from a Hobie 18. So after all that does anybody have some helpful advice? I figure to just follow the instructions in the kit and smile for the camera. Anybody wish they'd put the pins on the tillers? put it on upside down? put the shock cord on the crosspiece? Love it the way it is?

Anybody?

Pins up... in your palm.

Pins down... in your thigh.

Newer style is a bit more comfortable in you hand with rounded end connectors, but is pins down.

Bungees and clips should be on same side as the pins.

Look and rudder alignment and cut crossbar to allow adjustments.

Thanks very much Matt Worked a treat. I was careful (for me) to get the rudders aligned and then measure before I cut down the H18 tiller connector. It was a pleasure working on the whole deal since the parts are so well made and the directions are straightforward. I've been critical of Hobie pricing sometimes in the past but this stuff is first rate and you can go to a dealer and order stuff for a boat that hasn't been built in ten years and it just comes in Thursday. Try that with a NACRA or a Prindle or a Mystere.

Going sailing soon. Thanks
