Kim Miller's Guide To Catamaran Capsizing from On The Wire is a funny read.

That is Seriously funny!

No capsizes of my own this weekend.. and only caught one traditional blow over on film, happening just behind my boat.... (I just may have to post it :D )

The best of last weekend IMO also wasn't my own.. and happened around midnight.. (the weather was just to nice so we stayed out till 2am) About 11:30pm it was perfect solo/single trap weather.. and well.. Out he went on the wire.. and the freshly installed trap handle came loose sending him into the lake.. Lucky it was in a nice big puff knocking the boat over..and somehow he didn't loose his mainsheet/tiller extension.. So all was well in the end.. but I will have to get one of those on film sometime..

Have a Hobie night! 8)

Hey look... I am getting better at my favorite move...

The trick is maintaining proper tiller control, steering the boat through the event..

Ok... Someone explain this pitchpole to me.. This is the first ever time I have dumped unintentionally during a race. I dump all the time playing around so I have a good idea of what not to do while racing.... I was gybing for the pressure, and the gate... I can only assume it hit me a few seconds before I was expecting it, and was much stronger than I anticipated.. But still.. I have become fairly steady at passing the tiller and see no evidence of a bobble or anything as I pass it.. I guess I just lost that feel right at the moment I needed it the most.

It happens right at the 12 minute mark.

This is fun watching the ways to tip it over.

Here is my version, on the Hobie 18.
My friend was skipper, an experienced sailor but first time on a Catamaran.
Just about 20mph as we lost it.

So when the crew has had enough... but you aren't quite done capsizing for the day...

So how long before told her that you coated the front half of the tramp with a silicone spray?

HA!... That tramp on my boat is one of the slippery'er tramps I have been on for whatever reason...

We capsized the boat prior to racing on Sunday at Yankton for the same reason shown in this video... She started sliding when I was expecting her to come out, and it was all over..
