Thinking of getting a sail kit for my pro angler to use when at the gulf. Would like to know if anyone has put one on the pro angler and how it did.

Dig around on these forums - I am sure someone has posted on this subject. I imagine it can be done and would work in a gentlemanly, even majestic fashion :D ...downwind (I wouldn't expect too much from it going upwind).

Downwind it's a dog - there is no boom so you can only catch so much wind in the bagged up sail. Just pedal downwind - it'll be faster.

Upwind or on a reach it's actually pretty good considering the size of the sail and the size of the boat.

Well that's me told

...actually my Adventure is a bit of a pain dead downwind too because the sail tends to go through a roll-inducing fill-collapse-fill-collapse cycle. The solution on the Adventure is not to travel dead downwind but to gybe from one tack to the other in a downwind zig-zag (thus keeping the sail filled and avoiding the roll) or to use a boom batten to hold the sail open.

I'm learning to sail my pa14 and there are those issues you guys mentioned with sailing.
I just had the Hobie furling kit installed and it works great! If the wind gets too strong I can furl the sail and peddle until the winds calm down. They say you're not supposed to sail in winds above 10 mph, but I've sailed in 12-15. It's a handful but I don't think there's much chance of flipping it. It's pretty darn stable. 8)
