If there a difference between the normal HC 14 lower forestay and the HC 14 Turbo jib luff line?

I have a HC 14 Turbo with a wrong forestay, and picked up a jib, so I am trying to get it working properly. I have the correct bridles. Also, plan on making the upper forestay shortened 3" so that I can put a halyard block to raise and lower the jib as on my HC 18. Any suggestions or comments.

thanks

rob

The forestays are different. The Turbo jib has an internal luff wire / forestay. If you have a jib that has no wire, it is not factory made. It may have been made to hoist up the existing forestay. Typically using hanks (hooks) that hold it to the forestay.
