will do

btw - I've always handled the tiller and both sheets myself even with crew (my family) on board. They are very intimidated by all the lines not being sailors. So when you were working the jib for me on the tacks it was nice. Never realized how much easier it can be with a first mate. I'll definately give you a call if I'm ever going to be solo again.

First day out on the water this season was Monday 6/2. A bit cool out on the water but a beautiful day and 10-15 knot SW wind. Sailed from Barn Island launch to Flat Hammock and back. Return trip was 2x faster than outbound. Was out for about 4-1/2 hrs total.

Dreaming of warmer days. Only 3-4 months before I can get back out on the water.

Anyone else in CT, MA or RI?

Pulled the boat out of winter storage yesterday. Began re-assembling. Anxious to install new main tramp and wing seat covers. I have some EVA foam padding that I ordered this winter to cut to size and install under the wing seat covers for some extra comfort. Also redesigning my motor mount. The last design hung about 3.5" below the rear crossbar which resulted in splash onto the tramp from waves passing below. New design uses 80/20 extruded aluminum bar and 1/4" aluminum plates so that nothing hangs below the rear crossbar. Expect delivery of parts tomorrow. I will post pictures when completed in a few weeks.

Also planning a trip to Cape Cod this summer. Anyone out near Truro / P-town area? Will be there for a week. Hope to launch in P-town and beach the boat for the week sailing on and off throughout the week in the bay.

http://www.fleet448.org/ meets many times per summer in and around Narragansett Bay. As far as I know, I'm the only one in the fleet with a Getaway...

Anyone else in CT or New England for that matter with a Getaway? I was really looking forward to the first sail this year. Usually get out sometime on Memorial Day weekend but the weather this year is not cooperating. Low 60's by the water and rain on Monday. :( Probably should have gone last week when it was 95 inland and upper 70's by the shore. Water is still in the 50's so definitely don't want to risk getting dunked.
