I'm looking for suggestions for places to sail in early April. It's too cold in VA to sail until late May but I've been thinking about a 7 day trip to FL, or Gulf Coast. I'm not really a beach sailer so I'm looking more for lakes or protected water. I usually sail on Currituck Sound at the Outer Banks of NC which is really considered fresh water because the closest opening to the ocean is 25 miles south or on local lakes in western VA.

Thanks for your input.

Barry Martin

If you make it down to the florida west coast, "Clearwater/Dunedin". You can sail in the gulf or on the inside (intercoastal) if the gulf is too wild. Not alot of water during low tide in some places on the inside though.
