I just received a pair of Dakine straps from Murray's. Planning to replace my old ones, too (after I replace the foam traction along the top of the hull first). I'll try to post up some photos after I get the new ones mounted.

Thanks for the responses. I also picked up some Dakine (Thanks SURF CITY CATAMARAN) and hope to work on the boat soon.

Next question is mounting location, currently mine are mounted on the rear crossbar. But I see photos of some being as far back as the sterns.

Anyone have any thought about location???

I mounted the footstraps on my Wildcat and Tiger as far back as possible
just behind the inspection hatch, you have to reach inside to hold the washers and nuts down

Agree with Johan. Mine are mounted to the back of the transom then forward on the outer edge of the hull maybe 8". Washers between the nuts and fasteners inside and out. And reaching through the rear porthole wasn't too bad to remove the hardware. No photos with me now but I'll try to put some up next time I'm by the boat.

Just got my new traction pad and foot straps installed yesterday. Pretty straightforward. These new Dakine straps are plush! Hopefully these photos help give you an idea of placement.

Very nice!!!

Looking good there. Do your footstraps interfere with the rudders at all as the Tiger rudders sweep close to the deck. We have footstraps located on the rear beam as your first pic but thinking of putting 2nd set in for both helm and crew to use because the conditions get crazy/rough around here (or maybe we are just inexperienced  )

Love the Tiger!

Thanks! It's an older Tiger I picked up a few months back and am just working a few projects to get it ready for the upcoming season. Not sure if the tillers will interfere but should find out when we rig in March. It's mounted on a bit of an outward angle and sits much lower than the rear beam so I'm thinking it should be ok. My previous straps were mounted in this same location so I just re-used the mounting holes (but the straps were crusty, stiff and shot).

Thanks for the photos, and I like the grip pad two. I'm think of going with more color, my hull have been striped of all decal so there is a lot of white. Thinking maybe Hobie Black Diamonds and something else?

Any ideas out there for a modern look?

Minor thread jack here, my apologies. I had some extra Hydro-Turf leftover from the project I posted photos of earlier; if y'all are interested take a look at this thread from the classifieds:

Any preferences about locating the foot strap on the rear crossbar vs all the way to the rear?
