Anything is possible, many things are unlikely.

Assuming conditions allowed such a thing, there is still the problem of being able to carry enough food and water for the voyage. Yes, you could catch fish (maybe) and make water from air humidity, but the chance of running out of either or both is pretty high, I'd think.

You would need a support boat at the minimum and a huge amount of luck in regards to sustained conditions

It's a very long way, you also have to sleep somehow whatever the weather.

As a French/American guy has ALREADY swum across the Atlantic, and is currently swimming across the Pcific, the answer is of course yes.

All you need is a support boat to tie up to at night, so you can have a cozy sleep and meals, and in the morning, using a GPS fix, you can be released at the exact spot you stopped at, and continue your journey.

Totally impractical and not to be attempted. Even the Hawaiians wouldn't try it, in a little plastic boat.

Agreed - you'd have to be off your trolley...

The A.I. has far to many potential points of failure...

Here we have a new forum member, 1 post, and he has people taking him seriously "Is it even possible?" with respect to sailing across the Pacific. Of course, if you had a mother ship which would give you a nice meal, morning and night, a nice bed to sleep in, safe harbor in storms, and put down the next day just where you left off, you might be able to do it. If you didn't have that mother ship, in all likelihood, such an adventurer would die. Mingle is right, too many fragile points on a Tandem/AI 2 for such a trip. Unfortunately, none of us would be any the better for it--we all knew it couldn't be done.

Yes, he did, but I would venture that his folding kayak, a Klepper w/ sail, was more sturdy and repairable than an AI/TI. No matter how you cut it, Lindermann's feat was amazing.
