Have been using my Eclipse happily for a year. Take VERY good care of it, washing well with fresh water after every use, storing in a garage, and wincing every time it gets a mark, which is fairly often. If there IS a repair kit, I would buy one. Just joined the Forum because (surprise!) I have an issue. Like many others, I have always noticed some play in the handlebars, and today when I went to remove them, the metal bar came out but not the plastic base. Not all the way BUT cannot seem to pull the base out. Is there some trick to this without the leverage of the metal bar? Also, as someone else noted, there is some hard gold tan material: fibreglass? Glue? That came out with the end of the metal bars. Help!

We have 3 Mirage Eclipses. On one of them, the handlebar is very difficult to push all the way down to lock it in place and even more difficult to pull it back out when putting it away. How do we remedy this problem?

Your dealer can help you with that. If you want to try yourself... I would look at the part at the base of the handlebar. You might see where the contact points are wearing. I would try a file or sandpaper to reduce the high point that is causing the issue.

Thanks, Matt. The dealer is an 8 hr round trip, so we'll try to see what's sticking. I did not feel a high point but will try again when I get them back out next season.
