I know I've read this on here before but I can't find it with "search".

What are those two little buttons on the side of the Wave hulls, about 2 feet behind the side stay tangs or at the rise in the hump between seat pads?

I'd like to attach some jib blocks (genniker) or a cross-tramp line to carry such blocks using those buttons/holes. They look like caps on metal inserts. Is there a threaded hole under those caps? Could I use those holes, tap them out if needed, to anchor jib blocks? Is the hull thick enough to support loads at that point?

They cover threaded brass inserts molded into the hull... inboard and outboard. The are used for tram track attachment on the inboard sides as well as jib sheet mounting plate attachment points.

1/4"-20 x 5/8"

Wahoo! Just what I needed! I'll assume that Hobie has some jib kit to do just what I need but I bet they use the inner ones. That would work for the Classic but for a Club will I have to put some kind of access hole through the tramp? Or use the outer holes to anchor a cross-tramp line to carry jib blocks like on the 4-way adjusters in days of old. Extra grommets in the tramp would allow me to run the center of cross-tramp line under the tramp, a la Prindle 16. I'm showing my age...

Yes, we use the inner ones for the jib sheet mount... even on a club. You just remove a couple screws... loosen some more and slip the plate (an upside down "L") in between the hull and track.

The outboard inserts are the perfect place to put a fairlead and run the beach wheels tether through and tie it off somewhere, perfect balance point.
