What kind of grease should I use to service a GT Mirage drive? Will regular Marine grade grease harm the plastic parts?I wonder what kind Hobie uses at the factory.
Thanks
Andrew

Some people do nothing. I spray the parts with a good silicone spray. If you put grease on, there may be a tendency to pick up sand.

I want to tear down the idler pulley.both sprockets and the drums. On the GT Mirage drive they all have needle bearings that ride on the shafts and need to be cleaned and re greased periodically. The factory grease was green in color.I just wonder what kind of grease Hobie uses.I do not want the plastic parts to be degraded by using the wrong product.
Thanks
Andrew
P.S I think I found my answer. Here it is if anyone else is interested.

Any marine grease works. Other greases will wash out. IMO, all three shafts should be greased (idler, drum and sprocket) regardless of what model Drive you have. 8)
