How on earth do you stop the hiking straps from pulling out of the buckle/adjuster? I have doubled up the straps to try and make them tighter but they still slip out. This is the second time this has happened and this time was with brand new straps and buckles - and only the second day out after installing them. When I show other sailors they think it's a joke! What am I doing wrong or has hobie got it wrong?

Look up how to double back a buckle on a climbing harness. That should do it.

Thanks dorienc for your reply. Just looked up what double back is and then checked the the hiking strap on the side that didn't come loose and I had already did this. On reflection when I double back there is less than half an inch (I have large feet and wear boots) and the both times that they came off was when changing tack (going about) never when they are under load. Anyway I'll put a backup rope through the straps and actually tie knots that I trust.
Cheers
