Announced to dealers today. We added a lid gasket to all 2019 Outback production.

Quote:
For 2019 Outbacks built prior to this production change, we created a kit:

72020119 2019 Hobie Outback Front Hatch Gasket Kit. This is at NO Cost.

The kit will include instructions on how to install the gasket. We also have an instructional video that covers the installation. This video will also be accessible on the Outback product support page on Hobie.com on Friday.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked to solve this issue.

How do we get the gasket? Through our dealer or hobie directly?

Through your dealer. We can ship direct to you, but they need to order.

How long is it taking for y’all to ship to dealer? My kayak is ready to go but I was going to wait and have them install the kit before I go get it.

It is taking awhile to fulfil. We are waiting for more materials. There is a high demand on this kit.

It seems this would work on other models as well, cut to length... yes/no?

We are working on a universal kit with the necessary templates for Revos and older Outbacks... maybe more models.

Do new orders of the Outback either ship with the gasket already installed or at least with a kit? Or are the gaskets going to always be considered an "extra" that needs to be ordered by the dealer separate from the kayak? Just curious since I am getting very close to pulling the trigger and just wanted to set my expectations appropriately.

Included / installed on all 2019 Outbacks as of that date. Available as a free retrofit for boats built prior.

my dealer (an hour away) sent the kit to me and it arrived last Friday (Dec. 7). I watched the video, installed the gasket, am getting a good seal all the way around the lid now, all good. cheers, roger
