Hi, I found a used 2004 getaway for sale, asking price is 7400.00. It has supposedly only been sailed about 4 times. The hulls have very few scratches on them, and the rigging, bob, tramps and wings are in great condition, I was told it was stored inside. It comes with the galvinized trailer.
Are there any problems with the 2004's hulls cracking? I heard something about this, but I could not recall the years that had the problems.
It seems a little over priced, what do you getaway people think?
Is the price too high?
If I buy it I will have to I was also wondering if my h16 furling jib would fit on it to give it some extra power.
Thanks, John

I think $7400 is a little steep for a 2-3yr old boat.

Cracking - as far as I know this issue is random based upon the curing of the hull material during that time period. Hobie improved upon the mfg. of the hulls a lot after the initial run in 2001-2002.

Seems high. I just bought a 06 with wings, cheata mount, 06 3.5 hp Tohatsu outboard, trapeze, galvanized trailer for $7,500.

Seems a bit high to me too. Bought a 2004 with brand new 06 hulls because the 04's craked. Boat was only sailed 3 times with 04 hulls, the owner said he noticed the crack after it was in storage for a year. boat came with wings and galvanized trailer, paid 5900.00. Can't wait to get back on the water :)
