Hello!

First post here - new to the Getaway but sailed a Hobie 16 for years. Recently bought at 2012 Getaway and have a question on the mast.

The luff track on my comp tip does not meet the masthead leaving about a 1/8 inch gap. I can see what looks like a rubber gasket of some kind which looks partially attached/dislodged from the comp tip in that area. The rest of the comp tip (the solid part) is flush against the masthead.

My immediate thought was that the luff track had slid down the comp tip - but the bottom of the luff track perfectly aligns with the ridge around the comp tip that stops it from sliding into the aluminum part of the mast.

Is having that gap the the way the mast should look? Is the luff track supposed to be longer and crossing the gap to touch the masthead? Is that void supposed to be sealed with something? If so is there a part number for that? Is this something that needs to be fixed? Filled?

Have scoured the threads here, the web, the parts diagrams, etc. and have not found an answer so hoping that you all can help!

Many Thanks!

Best Regards,

Eric

Photo?

Does not sound like an issue. The sail would not hoist that high.
