Saw on youtube someone was using a Yakima Showboat as a kayak loader assist AND holder, links below. Looks like a good idea but was wonder if anyone here had some thoughts on it before I pull the trigger?

I too purchased the Show boat loader for my 2007 Subaru Outback when I owned a 2010 Hobie Outback.

Not only does it make it much easier to load the kayak, it also protects the very expensive rear spoiler on the rear hatch.

I used the Yakima Mako saddles on the crossbars to cradle the kayak on the roof rack.......not cheap, but totally safe.

This is the best (7 year old) photo I have, showing the Yakima show boat loader and Mako saddles on my 2007 Subaru Outback, supporting my 2010 Hobie Outback.
The Yakima combination was solid and very safe at highway speeds.
