The circular hatch mounts have 8 attachment bolts round their periphery. Do these bolts go straight into threaded plastic or do they have metal inserts? I have a bolt that appears to have stripped its thread and need to now whether I can get an another insert (if it exists) or whether I just need to drill out the hole and put in a bolt + Nylock nut as a replacement.

Or try a slightly larger diameter screw of similar type.

There is a plastic backing ring. You could add some epoxy in the hole and then set the screw?
