Anyone know of any Hobie Cat screen savers out there?

Sure would be nice to see some pics of Hobie sailing as I endure the long, cold winter months here in Michigan! :D

Cheers!

Nick

AVOID the "free" screensavers! I had one that showed different sailboats including some Hobie-types on a neat ocean scene. It took over and put pop-ups all over the place all the time. NOW I can't get it off my computer even with Adaware :x

If you want the best action shot screensavers of all sorts of sailing craft check out Sharon Green's stuff at www.ultimatesailing.com. I have hung her calendars on my wall for years now. I mean calendars of her photography that is

In the meantime, maybe someone will come up with a legit Hobie screensaver.

Good luck!

Hobie screen savers?

Hobie Cat Australia set up some still images for that.

For the Desktop...

I also have a Hobie Diamond logo that I made. I don't like too much confusion in the desktop image, so this is lightly embossed looking that you set to "tile". It fills the desktop surface with the logo.

I just cruise the pics and set as a backdrop searches in yahoo images work great. And then there is Beach Cats. Nothing like a quick fix on there video section.

If anyone wants to donate good Hobie pics (that they've taken themselves or own the license to) I could create a screensaver and deliver it to anyone interested.

I'm thinking it could be free to anyone who contributes at least one picture used in it, and a nominal fee (maybe five bucks?) to non-contributors (to cover my software cost).

If income exceeds my costs, I'd donate it to HCA or other Hobie promoting organization.

Just let me know if anyone is interested.

I'm very interested but I have to wait until spring to get some good pics. Do you mind?

How should we get pics to you? Mail or email? Size and format etc.

Have a great weekend! 8)

-19 degrees but sunny. A new low here in the Southern Tier of NY.

If you want in on the Hobie Screensaver project:

AND you have pictures to share:
Your picture may (or may not) be included in the finished screensaver. By send me your picture(s) you are giving me permission to distribute your photos as part of the screensaver to anyone else who also either contributes an included photo, OR ponies up the 5 bucks to buy it. I'll try to pick out the best dozen or so pictures from all that are provided, so there's no guarantee yours will be used. If so, you get a screensaver for free. If not, it's your choice to pay for it.

If you agree, Email any pics (any digital format is fine) to [email protected] with your contact info so I know who to send the finished product to. If you'd like to include your name or any commentary about the photos, let me know and I'll try to include it.

If you don't have pictures, but would like the screensaver, shoot an email to [email protected] and I'll let you know when it's available for purchase.

I've already received a few pictures, so the ball is rolling!
