Just got back from a sailing vacation at Clear Lake in Northern Ca. If you have not sailed this lake you owe it to yourself to visit. This is the largest fresh water lake in Ca. (Tahoe is only partially in Ca).
The lake is surrounded by low Mts. and is fairly senic. Best of all it :D consistantly has wind! Because of its size it is never crowed with other boats.

Where were you based?

A month ago I spent a week in Nice. Was able to rent a house with private beach so was able to leave the mast up all week.

We stayed in Nice too at the Trend West Resort. I kept the boat (My 23ft mono hull Aquarius) at the Holiday Marina. Cost: $20.00 for the week. The place is a shambles but the price was right and I was able to keep the mast up too. The boat is a lumbering behemoth compared to the H-16 so I was glad to be able to leave it in the water all week.

Try Loon Lake ice house rd. long ride great lake...if your truck is strong and boat small you can use the north shore to launch...and see the entire lake..check lake map and read area history
