Just got the hobie snuffer and at first look you have to rivet it to the pole? I have used the SNU system which was just lashed to the pole and worked just fine. I don't like drilling more holes then absolutely necessary.
Has anybody figured out a way around this? I am tempted to use those holes on the ring to lash it to the pole, not sure if this will be rigid enough.
Thanks
Seamus

Mine mounts with a single screw. I'd recommend using more. Riveting it would work too.

Replace it with the snu and sell off the stock snuffer or keep it till you upgrade.

Call Andy - there is nothing wrong with the stock snuffer, we tried both and use the stock one. He has found a way to attach it without drilling into the pole.

I like the stock snuffer after sailing with the snu all season. have a regatta this weekend so riveted it on last night. it's on there now and won't be coming off.
