How do you reach the bungies?
The rear aka arms each has a brace assembly - thats the little arm that locks the aka/amas into their out position for sailing.
Where the brace assemble connects to the rear aka forms a little notch (just below the shear bolt, at the plastic connector).
That notch is a perfect location to clip the unused bungie. Simply reach behind, and to the side.
When you want to sail downwind grab the bungie hook, hold the sheet over to that side, and attach the bungie hook to the loop of rope at the mainsheet's eye.
When not using unclip from sail and reclip to notch of brace assembly. EZPZ & cheap
Bungie length is about 2feet.
The nice part is, since the bungie stays attached to the ama, I use the bungie to help secure the ama while transporting in PU truck.
PS I tried ropes to hold sail out and the bungies work much better.
