Will the sail crack at low temps (10-30 degrees)? I am looking to sail into the winter as far as ice allows, I just don't want to damage the boat. I know that the plastic on Jeep windows can crack as well as plastic windows on pop up campers if subjected to cold temps. I was curious about the plastic see through section of the sail. Thanks..

We have a winter sailing fixture here on the east coast of Scotland and a lot of the boats have plastic sails, I have never heard of any cracking yet, I,m sure Hobie's tec people will be able to let you know.

No issue that I am aware of. The colored material is Dacron, the clear is Mylar. Most sails are built from similar materials.

I did some cold (cool weather) training and my window shattered - like most of it.
Temps in the 40's wind blowin 20-25kts
I was out about 10 hours and the cracking started about 6 hours in when I grabbed the sail all rolled up while reefed and it went crunch.
So age and temps will allow the window to succumb to cracking/ breaking.
My window by the time I came in was shattered completely.
New sail being ordered today
