Folding technique video.

I have added several instructional video segments to our support pages about unpacking, inflating, deflating and re-packing Hobie Mirage inflatables into their travel bags.

Scroll down to the inflatables product section.

Very informative videos. The only difference is that when stowing, being rather lazy I put the bag over the folded boat rather than lift or position the boat over the bag:

Tuck the corners...

flip the package and continue as per the video.

This way you never have to lift the entire boat or adjust the bag from underneath the boat.

When unpacking, I do the reverse -- open the bag, flip it and lift the bag off the folded boat. Just keeping it simple and easy. 8)

Hi guys,

i tried another way to pack, but sorry, no pictures:

before deflating the boat (after wiping it), i lay the bag open on the floor and set the boat right over it. With experience you learn which way works best and in which position to place the bag relative to the boat.

Then you deflate the boat, fold it as per instruction and you end up (most of the time) with the folded boat right on the bag. Then you slide the corners into it...

works great. I also us a plastic sheet to lay on the floor when only muddy or very wet surfaces are available.

cheers, from Switzerland

This is the method that I use to pack up my i11S. We used this method on both of our i11S inflatables when we took them from Brisbane to Vancouver Island, BC. Drives were taken apart and transported in our regular luggage. All was good until the TSA folks in LA decided to remove the shrink wrap we added in Brisbane and unpack them. They didn't pack them back in the same way and we ended up with a big hole in the bag where the seat rubbed on the flight from LA to Seattle. I wasn't a happy camper. All in all they traveled really well in both directions.
