In the new tiger rules it states spare must be as supplied by the manufacturer at time of manufacture.
Is it ok if you have the old boom to upgrade to the new boom?
Same with the old spin pole, rudders, ect.

You meant 'spar' yeah?
What's the exact language of the rule?

Yes sorry Jeremy Spar, but what if you have a spare spar? That makes the spar a spare.

So long as its Hobie parts I don't see the problem. If you've upgraded the few things that have been upgraded like the boom, rudders, and spreaders, you're just keeping up with the new boats, which are pretty much the same thing. I'd say it would be superseded by c.1.2 (a).

edit- F.2.1 (a) The spars and their fittings shall comply with the class rules in force at the time of manufacture of the spar.

My guess is this isn't so you don't modify an existing spin pole to accomodate a new ruling that may be advantageous? The new boom would be legal as it was legal at the time when the boom was manufactured.

Weird wording. I understood it the first couple of times I read it, it got fuzzier the more I did though.......
