I have to replace the mast base. Do I need to use some sort of adhesive in addition to riveting? If so, what type of adhesive should I use.

Also, I had to replace the cheek block on the mast. When I removed the rivets, the inside part of the rivets fell through the holes and are now rolling around inside the mast. I don't really want to break the seals on the mast to get them out. Is this going to be a problem in the future?

Thanks,
Joe

Short answer to both questions:

No. :D

On #2 it's no only if you don't mind the rattle.

Rivets... No they will move around inside the mast (especially when you step the mast). They will not cause any issues.
