End of season, and the tramps are off, the boat is packed away, and I'm looking at the winter work list.
On my grey mesh wing tramps and main tramp, there are a few minor issues, and I would appreciate any advice re repairs. One is where a screwdriver dropped, (don't ask) and there is a small puncture. The other (and more serious) is at the back of the tramp, where in a dozen spots, the fabric is 'pulling' just forward of the grommets.
What I would like to do is to place patches top and bottom, and radio weld those lightly damaged spots. No welder, so what else? Epoxy? Take some webbing (top and bottow) and get it stiched at a sail maker or auto upholsterer?
My major concern is whether the needle will 'cut' the mesh fabric, thus weakening it even further.
