So i was looking on that http://www.hcana.hobieclass.com/?Page=2168 site at the hobie 14 beam measurements..
It says the beam of the Hobie 14 is 7'8".
Now, my trailer’s widest point between the rollers is 7'6", my measured beam is under 7 feet..

My question is, where the hell do they measure the beam? There is not point in my boat that is 7'8"

Reason that this is coming up:
I am picking up a 16 today, and I double-checked the trailer measurements to see if it would fit. There is 6-8 inches extra room (when the 14 turbo is on) on the trailer for a boat to sit comfortably. But, the max trailer width is still half a foot short of the 16's beam measurement?
What gives?

Thanks,

The beam is shown as 7' 8" in old litereature I have. It might vary depending on the crossbar bend and weather the boat has a dolphin striker.

The keel measurement on the 16 is the key here for your trailer. It is wider than the 14 for sure, but I don't have the spec in front of me.

It fit on the trailor for my 14 with no problems.

I'll be sure to post the before and after pics of the boat.
