hi all
im new to kayak fishing and have just taken delivery of my pro angler and also a torqeedo ultralight.
i have seen some video's of hobie's with this motor fitted.
i have not seen any fitted to a pro angler yet.

has any one fitted this motor to a pa and if so do you mount the ball off centre so the prop is in line with the rudder?
can you fmount the ball in the centre and still line the prop up with the rudder?

i would like the motor to turn with the rudder,so before i start drilling the boat are there any ideas ?

Did you get this from a Hobie dealer? Hobie has put a lot of R&D in there kits for this boat. I'm not sure if there available from Hobie yet but defiantly worth the wait for a clean factory looking kit!

hi brad
just to put you in the picture,i am proberbly the first owner of a PA here in the uk.
i got the boat from a hobie dealer who shipped in for me on a special order.
while i was waiting for delivery i looked at every link on youtube about the PA,including loading on to the roof of my jeep.i then found the direcor of torqueedo on youtube demonstrating the motor.
so to us in the uk the only motor we know about is the one on youtub.
the hobie dealer told me he could get this for me if i wanted one.
we have a large boat show in the uk at southampton and i saw the torqeedo rep there and i bought one straight away.
so the motor is the one you guys the other side of the pond have had some time thats why i asked for advice on fitting.

This is not the kit Hobie is working on. Our product will be very different, so follow advise from Torqeedo on their installation process.

hi

i would love to have waited for this piece of kit already on the pa but we are so behind you i would still be waiting when we hold the olympics in 2012

i have seen a pa with the motor i bought,on the espn.com site looks very untidy and is off centre
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/print?id ... type=story

torqeedo dont show it fitted to a pa or give fitting instructins
but i plan to centre the prop in line with the rudder it should turn with the rudder and will look tidy ...i hope !!

Just hang loose, don't do no drilling yet!! Hobie is coming out with an electric PA around the 1st part of Oct. They are working with torqeedo on it. l would wait to see how they're set up is first. There are a few of us waiting for it to come out. Jim

Actually no the Hobie Evolve electric motor doesn't fit the PA ...fits only twist and stow rudder style hobies. The only way to fit the Evolve to the PA is to use the mirage mount option which means to lose your Mirage drive.

for more information on the Evolve ...http://www.hobiecat.com.au/pdf/kayak/2009/evolve.pdf

hi theblones
i live in surrey 2 mins from juntion 8 m25 for my sins
the pro is great fun and i have only used it on the thames at the moment the torqeedo is fitted and adds some relaxing peddal paddel free home runs back to the ramp.
i am looking at the hayling island area for next year for bass im a flyfisherman for my sins

roof loading for the pro is simple now for my jeep i use yakima rollers and mako saddles easy
it is heavy but my jeep will hold 150lb on the roof rack
what car do you have and are you in the south ?

I am living in swansea, wales so i have the Gower coast to play at. I have a range rover sport with the factory roof bars & a vw transporter which i find a bit too high. and i aint to sure on the max weight on the rr bars. I have got a thule outrigger type loading bar that ive not used yet butit seems allot easier.
I like the look of the Pro A but am a bit put off by the weight, its the stabiliy that attracts me to it and the storage but to be honest i dont need to take that much gear out with me on the trips i have been on (max 8 hrs)
I think the PA would be a great boat with the evolve motor on once its out on the sea.

why cant the evolve have a rail fitting for the back handle of the p.a.
so it works like the torqeedo 402
surely if you olt the evolve to a rudder you can bolt it to the back handle with a kit :?:
