Maybe Leech Line?

There would be a thin line up the leech (back edge). This would be tensioned only to take out any flutter between the battens.

thank you matt

that was the leech line...sorry

the other question that i've got is if a took this sail and I cut it to fit a H18 from 1982.

What will be my gain from my rainbow hue dacron sail from 82

will the shape of the sail will be different and affect us?

The 18 sail would be about 1 1/2 feet shorter. The length of the foot is the same on the SX and 18. You would likely cut the bottom of the sail off. It would require reinforcements at the new foot level.

Would it work? Yes.

Difference? Not sure.
