Will we have a Hobie 16 World Championship in 2010?
2011?
2012?

I think it is time to start thinking the 16 Worlds as a BYOB event.Maybe have 10-15 charters avaliable to the top foriegn teams.Three plus years is too long to go between events for one of the top one design championships.

I agree. If it's a choice between BYOB and nothing then the choice is easy.

Wishful thinking.
It's such a huge undertaking that I don't know who could handle running it. I mean, its not just the sailing, its the logisitics that go along with it. It would have to almost be a major hub area too. We've toyed around with what a budget would need to look like and its STAGGERING. I mean, I am running the Mississippi Mini Mega on a very modest budget and its still nearly $17k, can you imagine an event 10 times that big with International racers and RC involved??
You never know, there are some people in our group with pretty big ambitions and lots of talent, so you never know.

Hi all,
the major Hobie Event in 2010 is scheduled.

See www.haveahobieday.com

Book your flight with Continental and come to Travemuende, Germany. Charter boats are available for competitors from overseas.
Ask Bob M about his European experience and get a feeling about sailing in Germany by visiting
http://www.prosail.de/index.php?menu=Fl ... &mp=Bilder

More information to follow on www.haveahobieday.com
So spread the word!

Yours aye
