Thanks for the info... I don't have an anchor trolley, but my anchor is rigged to be deployed directly from the stern. It works great because it is out of the way and when retrieved, it pulls up and secures itself to the rear kayak handle. When I am ready to deploy it, I just pull up on the rope to disengage the lock mechanism of the Scotty anchor lock and the forward movement of the kayak pulls the anchor away from the kayak handle as the anchor deploys. I haven't had any problems from locating my anchor at the stern yet, but I can see the possible danger if I was anchored in windy conditions with current & wind at my back, and with wave heights of more than a foot. I'm sure in that situation water would come over the stern, but I've made my PA water tight and I use common sense to be aware of conditions relating to when and where its safe to anchor...Thanks again though for the reassurance of safe anchor deployment from the stern.
