 Post subject: Help with serial number

I just bought a used H18. The serial number on the transoms is CCM H3801M81E A1. I tried to decifer it using examples from the FAQ's and the Hobie website product support, but I am lost. Can anyone help me? Thanks

It is an '81... I think the last bit "A1" is a reference to quality... maybe. That is not part of the standard format. It was likely a "second" quality. Some kind of blemish.
