Basically <88 miles on the Colorado River, Laughlin to Havasu City; sometime this fall, hopefully over the Labor Day wkend.
Most of my info is currently coming from here:
http://www.dbw.ca.gov...
A great little overview, it showes many of the marinas, boat launches, campgrounds, markets, facilities and points of interest along the way. Well worth printing out if you have any interest in this section of the river!
It says that the nominal flow is ~2.25mph (pg. 4), I am currently planning four days. My concern is not having enough time to enjoy the side trips, like Topock Marsh or camping overnight (2nd night?) on the white sanddunes (pg. 10). Both of which I would really like to fit in!
I am currently planning to put in just below Davis Dam (pg. 6, #1, Sportsman's Park ).
First night camping at Needles, CA (pg. 8, #2, Rainbo Beach Marina) @ ~27.5 mi. a long day! Plan "B" is camping at Section 10 Recreation Area (pg. 6, #7), ~18.5 mi. from put in.
Lake Havasu City (pg. 12, #4, Crazy Horse Campgrounds) will probably be my haulout. I may not make the additional ~22 river miles from there to Parker Dam (pg. 14, #6, Takeoff Point), just not enough time. Plan "B" is going all the way to Takeoff Point @ Parker Dam.
If anybody has suggestions or experience they'd like to share I am hoping you will!
I will be taking my Adventure Island and should be able to haul another on my little truck (departing from South Scottsdale).
It goes without saying that anybody who wants to come along is invited!
