Hi matt!
I see I'm not alone in the confusion regarding image posting. Is it possible to post a video of the process? I'm assuming others are the same in that I learn much more quickly if I can actually SEE the steps. I'm new to computers and I'll catch on eventually but it would be GREAT if you could assist.
Thanks a Bazillion!

I'll try to get something like that done...

Thanks Matt!
I know I'm on the right track from viewing your instruction to Maui Mark. I get everything to look the way you described but I just couldn't get an image on the post. I tried for two hours before giving up for the night. Am I supposed to see the image before clicking the submit box?

You see the image when you either preview or post. Not when writing the post.

Thanks Matt and thanks to you Hobiefanatic for taking the time to post the video! I'm seeing some things that I don't recognize and I'm guessing it's because I use a Mac. All of my photos are kept in my iPhoto Library, a site not publicly accessible, so I'm guessing I'll have to find somewhere that is before I'll be capable of posting images. Does anyone have suggestions as to where to store images I'd like to post?
My sincere apologies for causing all the grief. If I can't catch on to this soon, I think I'll be tossing in the towel on this one, at least until I can find a buddy who can walk me through this in person. I haven't tried posting any images since Hobiefanatic posted the "how to" video. I'll give it a try! I have a number of ideas (photographed and in the making) that I'd like to share with you all.
Tech-impaired,

I have a Mac as well, and the problem isn't your Mac. In order to post an image on these forums, you will need to post the pictures that you want to use online somewhere. There are many free services, and I use picasa. picasaweb.google.ca To use this service you will need a google account. If you don't have one, you could create one easily. I've heard others use snapfish, and there are many others. You might even be able to use facebook. If you choose a place to host pictures online, I'm sure others, or myself will be able to help you get them online and then into these forums.

I'd be happy to explain how to do this, but you will have to choose the photo hosting site. It doesn't matter to me which one you choose, they all work very similarly, and I'm sure I'll be able to help you either way.

Perhaps others can help by letting GR8Laker know where you host your photos.

Thank you Augaug,
your explanation will put to an end any further frustration. I was fairly confident that I was following the proper procedure yet couldn't get any images. I'll start looking into host sites! Your direction is most appreciated.

I've used photobucket for some time reliably. Think that's how it's spelled. If you google it you'll find it. http://photobucket.com/
that's easier....

Aloha GR8,

I feeeel your pain! I'm computer challenged as well. As reflected below I was forced to enlist the help of some of my friends to help me figure out how best to post pictures. When it comes to computers women are soooo much smarter then men:) Oh yeah I also use Photobucket to host my pictures.

Thanks Maui Mark!
I think I'd better rush to the nearest Oyster Bar and find myself a new "pack of friends"! I have a feeling I'd forget about posting images altogether! Better yet, I have a good friend on Maui who keeps asking me to come visit. Maybe if I run around the Island shouting: "SINGLE!" (as if waiting in line for the chairlift at the ski slopes), I can find more friends such as yours.
Be well (it sure looks as if you are),

GR8 Laker

PS- Thanks to you and Yakking away for the photobucket info. I'm looking into host sites to join and it's nice to have options. I'm not sure what makes one better than another or if in the end there's really no difference, with some research I'll figure it out. I'm looking into Augaug's suggestion as there is one well suited to Mac owners called Picasaweb iPhoto.

Fyi... I have been asking our web admin to allow image hosting on our servers. It still might happen!

Thanks Matt, I sure wish they would. I don't mean to pry but I'm curious as to why the Hobie Forum doesn't currently host images? I have no interest whatsoever in joining a host site other than the ability to post images on this forum. Are they seriously considering it and if so do you have any idea as to when? If it's going to be in the near future I'll hold off on joining a host site.
